According to Smith (2006), Learning and Development is a management approach and practice where individual employees and teams can obtain or develop knowledge and skills to perform current and future job roles.

Learning and Development can be seen positively and neutrally inside the organizational setting. The positive aspect is to develop and acquire high-level needs such as self-esteem and self-actualization needs. The neutral aspect is to solve everyday problems through the effective transfer of information.
